The duo of Sherri and Sarah has been working together as student/teacher for not quite two years and they have also become fast friends, sharing the same love and dedication to pole among other things. Sherri enjoys challenges among which include teaching grade 8 during the day, running a full time farm and dealing with severe medical issues that forced her to give up her athletic career along with anything athletic. She started poling as a fill in class when another dance class was cancelled and thought it was fun, but nothing spectacular, until she met Sarah. The challenges of poling soon became apparent and she was hooked. Sarah is a married mother of 3 kids, who took up pole dancing just over 4 years ago to tone up her body after a 50lb weight loss. She trained at home through StudioVeena.com for 1.5 years before walking in to her very first formal pole class at Capital MissFits, where just over a year later, she became an intermediate instructor with the MissFits team. It was there at MissFits the 2 met, Sherri walking in to take classes with Sarah. Sherri has performed at several showcase events in the Ottawa area in the last year and is looking forward to competition as her next goal. Sarah has performed at showcases in both Ottawa and Toronto, as well as competed at a Provincial level, though she is not a fan of the spotlight. It seemed a natural progression for both of them to try doubles as a new challenge, though it is through Sherri’s determination that it is all coming to fruition. Sherri would like to see a Master’s Doubles category added to competitions in the future, dragging Sarah along for the ride…but for right now, both are happy to show that those over 40 can still hold their own.
