Hi! My name is Sarah Fancy and I live in Halifax NS. I live with my husband and work as a psychiatry resident. I love my job as much as I love pole fitness (and ice-cream!)
I first tried pole dancing 4 years ago and fell in love with it immediately. I would often have to go away for months at a time for school and didn’t start taking classes regularly until last summer. Since then I have been working hard to be the best dancer I can be. My future goals are to learn handsprings and elbow grip …and maybe even one day iron X (I mean of course one day iron X!).
Pole fitness has opened a new world for me. It has introduced me to lots of wonderful strong women and has been a “gateway” sport to other activities such as aerial hoop. I love the strength and flexibility that are required for pole fitness. What really captures my heart is the amount of creativity you can bring to the sport! It is a strength and endurance sport, and when you through in costumes, makeup and music; how could I not love pole fitness?
Working as a medical resident I credit pole fitness with balancing out my sometimes hectic life, it gave me an outlet for my imagination and biceps I never thought I could have!! It would be a dream come true to dance in the Atlantic competition and I thank you for the opportunity to apply.
