I discovered pole dance and pole fitness in 2009.  I came upon it by chance when I was doing home shopping parties where I sold lingerie and adult novelties.  One of the items I carried was a novelty pole called My sexy Little Pole.  I searched YouTube to see what I could do with this pole.  This is when I discovered pole was a “thing”.  Next, I set out to find where I could learn more.  Every class and workshop I attended made me more excited for the next one. I was hooked and loving it!

In 2014 I began teaching pole dance classes and in 2015 I became a Beginner certified pole fitness instructor, through the Canadian Pole Fitness Association.

I am so excited to continue on this journey.  Being able to share my love for pole with others has been a blessing.

photo(3)Previously a marathon runner, I had an enjoyment of fitness and a determination to overcome obstacles.
Three years ago, I was introduced to Pole Fitness by chance. After attending an event, for a friend’s birthday at Spinbuddies Pole Studio, I immediately fell in love with the sport and signed up for classes.
Pole Fitness quickly became my greatest challenge and my ultimate joy. To say that I developed an addiction for Pole Fitness, would be an understatement. Pole Dance and Fitness has become my passion.
My Pole journey took a turn when I began taking private lessons at Rock N Pole. The owner Lori Graystone hired me for pole parties and events. It was through this experience, that I realized that I wanted to teach.
The transformation in myself through Pole Fitness has been remarkable. The increased confidence, physical endurance and overall happiness that I have acquired through the sport, changed my life. This positive experience, was one that I wanted to share with others. Ultimately to encourage and inspire students, as my instructors had to me. I began teaching in December 2013, when Rock N Pole opened a new studio. Having found my niche, I pursued my Pole Fitness Instructor Certification through Elisabeth Magalhaes at Muse Pole Dance & Fitness Studio.
I have always enjoyed adventure, and have participated in every extreme sport, from Skydiving & Bungee Jumping, to White Water Rafting & Cliff Diving. However, nothing has brought me more adrenaline and joy than Pole Dance and Fitness. I am excited to continue my journey, and eternally grateful for those who share it with me

Certified Live Once/Muse Fitness PFI Beginner/Intermediate

    instructor since 2009.

My name is Alysse Russell.  I have had a love for sports and being active since a very young age.  As a result of participating in competitive teams since age five, being physically active has proven to be an important and healthy part of my lifestyle.  I have always been interested in anatomy and biomechanics as well. This interest motivated me to further my education in the field of Kinesiology at the University of Guelph-Humber.

I have taken numerous classes in anatomy and biology as well as specialized classes that deal with fitness assessment and exercise prescription.  I am currently a personal trainer, and aspire to further my career  in the fitness industry.  I enjoy teaching  pole dance, fitness classes and personal training.

It is a pleasure helping clients reach their fitness goals.  Everyone enjoys the benefits and outcomes of our style of training and I know you will too!

    Crystal Lai

    Certified CPFA PFI All Levels

    Member since September 3rd, 2013

Crystal Lai fell in love with the art of pole after her first visit to Brandi’s in Vancouver. Soon after, she started her pole journey in 2005 at Tantra Fitness, where she learned from the one and only – Tammy Morris (2nd Place at the World Pole Fitness and Dance Competition 2005 among with numerous other titles). With no dance or gymnastics background, Crystal is proud that her 7 years of training have culminated in her becoming Miss Pole Dance Northwest USA 2008, Miss Pole Dance Canada 2010, Best Entertainer and People Choice Award at the 2010 World Pole Dance Championships and was also a finalist at the I World Pole Cup 2011 in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.

Crystal enjoys bringing her bubbly personality to upbeat routines, but can also demonstrate grace and control to more melodic music. Crystal hopes by revealing her lack of a dance or gymnastics background will inspire future pole dancers who question their potential; pole dancing can truly stand alone to develop strength and fluidity. With her dancing, she wishes to help progress the technical and performance aspects of her sport as well as use her platform to educate the public about the sport and art of pole dancing. Einstein once said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge.  Knowledge is limited; imagination encircles the world.”

Crystal offers a variety of workshops – from basic pole techniques to pole choreography to pole artistry to crazy drops and flips. She also offers competitive coaching and individual training to those that wish to reach their skills to the next level. She believes that pole dancing is for everyone – it is a way to express yourself and share that inner shine that you have.

When Crystal is home, you can often find her training and teaching at Tantra Fitness – the place where she started her pole journey and her 2nd home.

For more information on the types of workshops, privates, performances and etc that Crystal offers – please contact her at info@crystal-lai.com or at crystallai85@gmail.com

I have been pole dancing for more than four years now and am certified as a Pole Instructor through Vertical Dance (Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced) as well as the NSCA as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist. I also hold certifications in Pre & Post Natal, CORE Cycling and TRX Team Training. I love all aspects of fitness but pole is by far my favorite. I do not claim to have all the answers regarding pole dancing, because I don’t. I am still learning new pole moves everyday… and I love it that way. I currently teach private lessons or group lessons out of a studio set up in my home. I pole dance for no other reason that I love it and I’d be happy to help you do the same!
