How to become a CPFA Instructor:
Without a CPFA Certification course:
- Possess a current CPR/First Aid certificate. (prices vary)
- Have taken Fitness Theory (and provide a certificate, prices vary)
- Have a minimum of 24 teaching hours.
- Challenge the Exam ($200)
- Get evaluated by a Registered Pole/Aerial Hoop Fitness Leader or send in your video to the CPFA for evaluation. ($75)
- Register with the Canadian Pole Fitness Association and you will be listed as a qualified and educated Instructor in your area which is good for one year. ($45)
- Use your membership number to apply for 2,000,000 professional liability insurance that will cover you wherever you go starting at $275 a year.

- Take a CPA certification course. (Prices vary and cost includes the final exam)

- Register with the Canadian Pole Fitness Association and you will be listed as a qualified and educated Instructor in your area which is good for one year. ($45)

Evaluation Specifications: (with or without a CPFA certification course)
– total of 45-60 minute video broken into no more than 15 min segments and loaded privately to YouTube or sent via yousendit.com
-perform a proper warm up and cool down/stretch
.- teach 2 pole/aerial hoop skills and one transition move to a student
– teach a fluid combination of these 3 moves to a student
– perform a combination yourself appropriate for a beginner level
– perform all the moves on both sides
– $75 fee for any video or live evaluation.
FAQ’s regarding Certification –
What if I am self taught and have never taken any certification course? You may challenge the exam for $200. You still need to have all other qualifications including Fitness Theory.

You do not need to recertify after you receive your initial certification
What does the process look like for proving you have enough teaching hours?

Hi Wendy, you need to have a letter from a studio owner or to any individuals whom you have taught the hours for or to. There needs to be a name, location, contact info etc to log the hours.
